When I think about La Bibliogràfica original associations our culture attributed to books come to my mind. The Latin word to refer to “book”, for example, was the same as the one that was used to express the condition of being free. And there exist few projects, few spaces, in which the production of books is an exercise as free as it is in La Bibliogràfica: freedom of thought, but also freedom of design and formats. Although, we know “llibre” (book in Catalan) comes from “liber”, that was the internal part of the bark of a plant, which the ancient Romans used to write on top. If it’s like this, Ignasi as the leader of La Bibliogràfica makes absolute sense. Like the bark protects and takes care of the plant, boosting its growth, La Bibliogràfica also takes care and protects the ideas, hopes, imaginaries and wishes of the authors, writers and artists. It’s a place where writing grows and ramifies, where writing establishes connections through roots.
